On Saturday Nov. 25th we hosted our first ever members competition, 6S Underground Throwdown, and it’s safe to say that the whole day was INCREDIBLE! Everyone came together for one common goal – to support each other and have fun – and that is something magical to witness. Thank you to everyone who made this day possible!

The day began with a group warmup – all 32 competitors did burpees to the AC/DC song “Thunderstruck”.
I know, I know! I know what you’re thinking. Grooaannn who cares about warming up?!?! I’ve heard if for years. You’re thinking that you already know all the reasons why you need to warmup. Trust me, there’s nothing you’re telling me and yourself, that I haven’t heard before. So, I’m going to add some more reasons to help you understand the importance of a good warmup and why you should take it seriously.
You might be surprised to learn that muscles on their own, only contract at about 30% of their total ability. If you’re hoping to add to that percentage, you’ll need to get your Central Nervous System (CNS) firing.
Melissa has been coming to CrossFit 6S since we first opened. She was brand new to CrossFit when she joined but was eager to learn and came through the door each day without an ego. Over the last 2 years she's been consistent and it's paid off! Her lifts keep going up, she keeps crushing PRs and her skills continue to improve! Go Mel! Even though she lives in Brampton, she makes it to the gym multiple times a week. Her dedication is admirable and her positive, humble attitude is a pleasure to have in the gym!
