How to eat chocolate everyday and not feel guilty

Face it, we all get cravings! Especially around holidays like Valentine’s day and Easter where chocolate is front and centre in our face, its hard to resist temptation. But did you know you could eat chocolate EVERYDAY without blowing off your diet??? It’s all a matter of how it is presented.

To help satisfy your chocolate cravings, we've compiled a list of easy, delicious, macro-friendly chocolate snacks! They're so good you won't believe they are Dietitian-approved!

Chocolate-Banana Soft Serve Protein Ice Cream 

​GREAT PRE & POST-WORKOUT 

Ingredients
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1 medium frozen banana
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (may need less or more)
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

Directions
Put all ingredients except almond milk into a high-powered blender and blend. Add almond milk 2tbsp at a time until to desired consistency is achieved. Eat immediately after blending, or put it freezer for 30 minutes to firm up a bit more.

Brownie Batter Overnight Protein Oatmeal

GREAT MAKE AHEAD BREAKFAST OPTIONS

Ingredients
  • ½-3/4 cup water (adjust to desired thickness)
  • ¾-1 cup plain low fat Greek or Skyr yogurt (or mashed banana, or pumpkin)
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder (or more, to taste)
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • Sweetener to taste
  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1tbsp ground flaxseed 


Direction
In a small bowl, mix all of the ingredients together. Cover and refrigerate overnight (or for at least an hour or more so the oats soften and absorb the liquid). Adjust liquid to desired consistency. Enjoy cold, or microwave for 30-60 seconds to enjoy warm! Can be topped with 1tbsp natural peanut butter and fruit.

Chia Seed Protein Pudding

GREAT LOW CARB DAYTIME OR BEDTIME SNACK IDEA

Ingredients
• 1 serving Chocolate Protein Powder
• 1 Tbsp cacao or cocoa powder
• ¼ tsp vanilla
• 2 tbsp chia seeds
• ½ cup of unsweetened almond milk 
• Stevia to taste
• Optional Toppings: ¼-1/2 cup fresh or frozen berries

Directions 
Mix protein powder, cacao, vanilla, almond milk, stevia and chia seeds in a bowl. Stir until combined and store (covered) in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour (can be left to set overnight). If a smoother, creamier consistency is desired, puree in a blender until desired texture before storing in fridge. Top with berries and enjoy.
*Store in an air tight container in the refrigerator (without topping) for up to 3 days.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls 

GREAT LOW CARB DAYTIME OR BEDTIME SNACK IDEA

Ingredients 
  • 3/4 cup almond meal
  • 1 scoop Whey Protein Vanilla or Chocolate 
  • 3 tbsp coconut manna (melted)
  • 1-2 tbsp water or almond milk 
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp dark chocolate chips (enjoy life brand)

Directions 
Mix all ingredients in bowl. You may need to use hands. Roll into tbsp size balls. Freeze for 5-10 min or eat right away. Store in freezer.
